Mac was presented at the hospital following a collision with another dog. On examination he was very painful and an x‑ray revealed he had a spiral fracture of his L hind leg. Alex England repaired the fracture using an external fixator and Mac began his lengthy recovery. Mac is a very special dog as he forms part of a competitive sled dog team so optimum functional recovery for this athlete was essential; consequently once his external fixator was removed an intensive rehabilitation program was initiated. Mac attended the hospital weekly for physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to establish a functional gait pattern, improve proprioception and strength. We are very pleased to say he has been signed off all treatment and has taken his place as lead sled dog! Well done Mac
